Olympia, WA — At the 2025 Winter Board Meeting of the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW), members gathered to elect Juli Bacon as the new State Professional Women in Building (PWB) Chair for the upcoming year. Bacon, a well-respected leader in the building industry, will take the helm of the PWB in 2025, working to advance the role of women in the industry while promoting leadership and professional development opportunities.

In preparation for her new role, Juli Bacon has already reached out to PWB members to begin strategic planning for 2025 and beyond. Her goal is to create a comprehensive roadmap for the future of the organization, one that builds on the success of past initiatives while addressing the evolving needs of women in the building industry. Bacon plans to present and discuss the strategic plan at the 2025 BIAW Summer Board Meetings in Spokane, where PWB members will have the opportunity to collaborate and provide input.

“I am honored and excited to serve as the Chair of the State Professional Women in Building for 2025,” said Juli Bacon. “The building industry is evolving, and it’s crucial that we continue to foster an inclusive environment that recognizes and elevates the contributions of women in this field. I look forward to collaborating with our talented members to build on our success and create even more opportunities for women in construction.”

Juli Bacon has been a long-time advocate for women in the building industry, with extensive experience in construction management and leadership roles. Her vision for PWB includes expanding mentorship programs, strengthening networking opportunities, and ensuring that the industry provides equal access to career advancement for women.

The PWB has long been a cornerstone of the BIAW, providing invaluable support to women working across all sectors of the building industry—from design and construction to marketing, sales, and beyond. With Bacon’s leadership, the organization is poised for continued growth and success.
