Recruitment – Opening a new position and finding the right candidate requires a financial and time investment on the part of the hiring manager. In some cases, hiring managers will utilize third-party vendor recruiters to assist in the process, to initially comb through viable applicants and narrow down the search. Depending on the position and skills required to fill the role, effective recruitment can take weeks and months, sometimes longer, to find the most qualified applicant and fit. A manager may often face challenges along the way, including finding the right candidate only to lose them before an offer is made; or have candidates “ghost” without explanation. Regardless of the circumstances, the right candidate will avail themselves in the end, but it may require hard work and long hours for the hiring manager.
